First Test, Lahore, day two (stumps): West Indies 206 v Pakistan 265-4
Yousuf hit his fourth century in six Tests against West Indies |
Mohammad Yousuf hit his 20th Test century as Pakistan took a healthy first-innings lead over West Indies on day two of the first Test in Lahore. Yousuf put on 88 with Mohammad Hafeez (57) and an unbroken 125 with Shoaib Malik, who went to stumps 61 not out.
When bad light hit, Yousuf was on 107, with Pakistan 59 ahead at 265-4.
Resuming on 39-1, Pakistan lost Younis Khan early and captain Inzamam-ul-Haq was out for a duck in his first Test since August's controversy at The Oval.
Inzamam missed a full-toss from spinner Dave Mohammad, hard on the heals of Hafeez's dismissal, lbw to a ball that kept low from Jerome Taylor.

It was just the 15th time the 114-Test veteran had been dismissed without scoring.
But Yousuf powered on with his fourth century in six Tests against the Windies and the first on home soil.
He surpassed former captain Salim Malik's 5,768 Test runs with a cover-driven boundary off Dwayne Bravo to move to 32 and is now behind only Javed Miandad (8,832) and Inzamam (8,498) in Pakistan's list of Test scorers.
Yousuf, in his 71st Test, was dropped on 43 by Daren Ganga off Taylor in the crucial period just before lunch.

And he was also fortunate to survive a stumping appeal by left-armer Mohammad on 53.
Television replays suggested his foot was on the line, but Sri Lankan umpire Asoka de Silva surprisingly did not refer the decision to the third umpire.
Otherwise, he was spectacular on his way to three figures on a slow pitch.
Yousuf raised his hundred in four-and-a-half hours when he flicked Taylor for his 13th boundary, before the fast bowler dropped him off the next delivery.
