Yuvraj has been prolific in one-day cricket in the past year |
Yuvraj Singh will miss India's opening game in the tri-series in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday after falling ill. The 24-year-old batsman has a viral fever and will now arrive on the day his team take on the West Indies.
Yuvraj has become a key player in one-dayers in the past year, scoring four of his seven ODI centuries.
India are using the Malaysia event, also featuring Australia and the West Indies, to prepare for the Champions Trophy, which they host next month.
They have been boosted by the return following shoulder surgery of Sachin Tendulkar.
One-day cricket's most successful batsman with 14,146 runs and 39 centuries, the 33-year-old has not played for his country since the Test series against England in March.
He scored 101 off 83 balls in a practice match last week and coach Greg Chappell said: "Sachin is looking very good. We have no concerns about him at all."
The three teams will face each other twice in day-nighters before the final on 24 September.
