Boucher to lead SA in one-dayers
Mark Boucher
Boucher has led the Proteas in four Tests and a one-dayer
Wicket-keeper Mark Boucher will captain South Africa in next month's one-day series with Sri Lanka and India.

Boucher has been named ahead of Ashwell Prince who is standing in as captain for the Test series against Sri Lanka in place of the injured Graeme Smith.

Jacques Kallis, Justin Kemp and Charl Langeveldt also miss out with injury.

But off-spinner Thandi Tshabalala is in line to make his debut after being named in a squad of 14 for the series, which runs from 14-29 August.

Chief selector Haroon Lorgat said: "With Ashwell not a certainty in our one-day side, we have asked Boucher to captain the team.

"With injuries to some key players, we have an opportunity to look at others as we build towards the World Cup in the West Indies next March."

South Africa play Sri Lanka in the opening match in Colombo on August 14 and each team plays the other twice, with the top two advancing to the final.

South Africa squad: Mark Boucher (capt), Boeta Dippenaar, Loots Bosman, Herschelle Gibbs, AB de Villiers, Shaun Pollock, Johan van der Wath, Robin Petersen, Andrew Hall, Andre Nel, Makhaya Ntini, Ashwell Prince, Roger Telemachus, Thandi Tshabalala.
