Windies struggling in tour opener
Rangana Herath
Spinner Herath took three wickets for a strong home side
West Indies suffered a worrying start to their Sri Lanka tour as they were bowled out for 110 in a practice match.

Spinners Rangana Herath (3-23) and Kaushal Lokuarachchi (3-15) took three wickets each for a strong Board President's XI in the two-day match.

The tourists, without 10 top players because of a sponsor row, lasted just 51 overs after being put in to bat.

In reply the hosts were 152-1 at close of the first day, with captain Marvan Atapattu was unbeaten on 78.

Atapattu, who is trying to regain fitness after a back injury, appeared untroubled with his half-century taking 85 balls.

But only five West Indies batsmen managed to reach double-figures, Omari Banks the top-scorer with 18.

The Sri Lankan side included six regular Test players in a bid to give them match practice after a three-month break.
