Leading Kenyan players went on strike last year |
Kenya's cricket association has been dissolved by the government and replaced with an interim committee. Sports Minister Ochilo Ayacko accused the KCA of financial mismanagement, feuding with national team players and delaying a new constitution.
"The KCA purports to officially promote the sport of cricket and receives a lot of financial support," Ayacko said.
"It has been doing so without an elected office since 1997 and cannot account for huge sums of monies."
Voting on a new representative body is expected to take place in April.
The row is the latest to hit the Kenya side, who were surprise semi-finalists in the 2003 World Cup.
Former captain Maurice Odumbe was last August handed a five-year ban after being found guilty of receiving money from a bookmaker to fix a match.
Leading players last year went on strike protesting that they had not received bonuses due for that tournament.
And the International Cricket Council has made it clear Kenya's dreams of Test status will not be approved until national cricket authorities improve their working methods.
Two ICC officials have held second round of interviews with players this week, seeking new evidence in their match-fixing probe.
They are to forward their findings to world cricket's governing body, which will decide the next course of action.
