Hollioake's fundraiser has broken the world record |
Adam Hollioake's charity relay to raise money for the CHASE hospice service and the Ben Hollioake Fund has resulted in a new world record. A total of 824 people, which included stars from cricket and entertainment, broke the record for a non-stop 100m sprint at Crystal Palace last weekend.
The previous record of 650, set in Glasgow, was eclipsed during nine hours and 15 minutes of constant sprinting.
Former England and Surrey all-rounder Hollioake retired at the end of summer.
Among those taking part from the world of cricket were Surrey and England batsman Mark Butcher, county colleague Jonathan Batty and Phil Tufnell, while stars from show business included Anthea Turner and Harry Judd from McFly.
Although the amount of money raised is yet to be finalised, the final total is likely to run into thousands of pounds.
