Sarwan's side managed to tie the last one-day series with England

Since England won the Test series 3-0 in April they have also whitewashed New Zealand at home, while West Indies struggled to beat Bangladesh.

"We know a lot more about them," said vice-captain Ramnaresh Sarwan before the team boarded a flight to London.

"The conditions are going to play a big part but I think we have a fair idea of what their players are capable of."

Sarwan's team-mates struggled against the England pace bowling during the Test series at home, but managed to draw the one-day matches 2-2.

"Our batting will have to step up," said the Guyanese batsman.

"It's going to be the main thing in the series and if we bat well it should be a good series for us."

The limited-overs game is first on the agenda, with the triangular NatWest Series also involving New Zealand, and the tourists then play four Tests, the first at Lord's on 22 July.

They warm up with two matches against Ireland in Belfast before playing three matches against county opposition.

"We have got a few warm-up games before the series so I think that's good for us," Sarwan added.

"Most of the young guys have already played in England ... so they are used to the conditions."
