Hugh Morris took over as acting chief executive on Friday |
The England and Wales Cricket Board is moving closer to finding a new chief executive. Nine candidates have been short-listed for the post and interviews will be completed next week, but their identities have not been revealed.
Tim Lamb stepped down after filling the role at Lord's for the past seven and a half years.
Former Test batsman Hugh Morris, the ECB's Performance Director, is now doing the job in a temporary capacity.
Director of Cricket Operations John Carr is, meanwhile, representing the Board's interests on the International Cricket Council.
Lamb announced earlier this year that he would be leaving and said losing the support of the counties was a major factor in his decision.
"The first-class counties are absolutely the key stakeholders in the game.
"And once it gets to the stage where they perhaps feel they have lost some confidence in the centre, then that can create some problems."
Lamb was also criticised for his handling of the row over England's tour to Zimbabwe, which has now been confirmed for November.
