England have named a 15-man Test squad to tour West Indies in the spring with no changes from those originally selected for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. One fast bowler will be added later, and that will be Simon Jones provided he proves his fitness in the Academy's tour to India in February.
Richard Johnson is omitted because he requires surgery on his right knee.
England also revealed a 13-man one-day squad, with opening batsman Vikram Solanki missing out.
Chairman of selectors David Graveney said: "Stephen Harmison has recovered from the back injury which ruled him out of the Sri Lanka Test series and we expect there will be keen competition for places in the pace bowling department.
"The reports we have had from the Academy indicate that Jones is making good progress in his recovery from a knee injury.
"As Simon has been out of first-class cricket for more than a year, we will be closely monitoring his form and fitness on the A team's tour of India with a view to adding him to the Test squad in the Caribbean.
"Andrew Caddick was not considered for selection as he needs time to complete his rehabilitation following back surgery.
"But his recovery is going according to plan and we hope he will be available for selection this summer."
The absence of Solanki in the one-day squad will be a huge boost to Andrew Strauss, who made his debut in the first one-day international in Sri Lanka before rain ruled out play in the other two matches.
With the one-day series not starting until 18 April, England will add two seamers to the squad they have announced.
One consolation for James Kirtley, who misses out on Test selection, is that he and James Anderson are the only specialist fast bowlers among the 13 already named.
Johnson is one of those who could conceivably join up with the one-day party.
Graveney said: "His surgery takes place later this month. We will closely monitor his rehabilitation and while he will not be available for the Test squad, there is a possibility he could come into contention for the one-day squad."
The first Test of four is in Jamaica and starts on 11 April. West Indies are currently trailing in a four-Test tour of South Africa 2-0 with one match to play.
