Tour match, Perth, day two of three: Zimbabwe 330 v Western Australia 207-6 Streak took three wickets in his first eight overs |
Heath Streak and Andy Blignaut dominated with bat and ball on day two of Zimbabwe's tour match against Western Australia. In the morning the duo shared a 63-run last-wicket partnership to take the tourists to 330 all out.
Then the opening bowlers shared five wickets as the home side were reduced to 207-6 in reply.
Marcus North led the Warriors' batting with a patient 59 but was the first of two wickets in four balls for Blignaut.
Streak was also involved in a run out, which dismissed Scott Meuleman for 47 shortly afterwards.
The showing will buoy the tourists ahead of their first ever Test against Australia, which starts at the same Waca ground on Thursday.
North hit a half-century for the hosts |
Earlier Craig Wishart, 93 not out overnight, did just enough to secure his 11th first-class century before he was bowled by Paul Wilson next delivery. His innings lastest 222 balls, with 18 fours and a six.
Streak dropped anchor, facing 140 balls for his 45 while Blignaut bashed 57 from 78, with two sixes.
And the Zimbabwe captain then cut into the Western Australia top order, dismissing Mike Hussey, Chris Rogers and Shaun Marsh in his first eight overs.
The only downside for Zimbabwe was the performance of their back-up bowlers, none of whom had any success.
