Tigers name squad for Aussie tour
Khaled Mashud
Mashud lost his spot in the team after the World Cup
Sacked World Cup captain Khaled Mashud has been recalled by Bangladesh for the Tigers' upcoming two-month tour of Australia.

Bangladesh depart on 22 June to play two Tests and three limited-overs matches against the world champions.

The matches are to be held in Cairns and Darwin, venues never before used for international cricket.

Bangladesh will be captained by all-rounder Khaled Mahmud, who replaced keeper Mashud after Bangladesh's dismal World Cup performance in South Africa.

Mahmud was in charge when Bangladesh lost two Tests and three one-day internationals to visitors South Africa in March and April this year.

TOUR SCHEDULE
18-22 July - 1st Test (Darwin)
25-29 July - 2nd Test (Cairns)
2 August - 1st ODI (Cairns)
3 August - 2nd ODI (Cairns)
6 August - 3rd ODI (Darwin)

Five pace bowlers were included in the squad by a selection panel including new coach Dav Whatmore, the Sri Lanka-born Australian who guided Sri Lanka to victory in the 1996 World Cup and the semi-finals of this year's showpiece.

Bangladesh have not won a Test or one-dayer since gaining Test status in 2000.

Bangladesh squad: Khaled Mahmud (captain), Javed Omar, Khaled Mashud, Habibul Bashar, Mohammad Rafique, Hannan Sarkar, Mohammad Ashraful, Al Shahriar, Manjurul Islam, Alok Kapali, Sanwar Hossain, Tareq Aziz Khan, Mashrafee-bin-Murtaza, Tapash Kumar Baishya, Anwar Hossain Monir.

NB: Tushar Imran and Habibul Hossain are to join the team for the one-day matches.
