India were left to reflect on what might have been at the World Cup |
India have confirmed the dates for home series against New Zealand and Australia later this year. Sourav Ganguly's side will play two Tests against the Kiwis before all three sides take part in a one-day series.
It will offer India a chance to avenge their 125-run defeat by Australia in the World Cup final.
And they are also looking to prove a point against New Zealand, having been comprehensively outplayed in both forms of the game during a tour at the beginning of the year.
"I am looking forward to the lead-up programme and playing programme," said coach John Wright.
Batting star Sachin Tendulkar hopes to be fit to make his comeback following a finger operation in the US.
The Test matches are likely to be played at Bangalore and Mohali, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India is still considering the venues for the one-day fixtures.
