South Africa last played England at the 2000 Women's World Cup |
South Africa have named a 15-year-old schoolgirl in their squad for this summer's series against the England Women's team. Johmarie Logtenberg from KwaZulu-Natal was included in a squad of 15 players, to be captained by Alison Hodgkinson.
There are only four survivors from their last tour to England three years ago - Hodgkinson, Nolubabalo Ndzundzu, Magdaleen Terblanche and Yolande van der Merwe.
They lost a one-day series 3-2 during their visit, but gained revenge at the Women's World Cup in New Zealand later that year with a five-wicket win, the last meeting between the two sides.
The South African squad will to arrive in England at the end of July and has been provisionally scheduled to play two Tests and three one-day internationals.
It will be the first time the two sides have met in a Women's Test since 1961.
England will be looking to maintain the progress shown over the winter when they pushed Australia hard in a two-match Women's Ashes series before losing 1-0.
