Lehmann tests inconclusive
Darren Lehmann and Gary Fellows
Lehmann has captained Yorkshire this year
Darren Lehmann's chances of making the Australia squad for the forthcoming triangular series in Nairobi are in doubt after he failed to secure a medical clearance.

The left-hander fractured the little finger of his left hand in his final match in county cricket for Yorkshire, in the drawn match with Warwickshire a week ago.

He flew to Melbourne on Sunday to have the injury assessed by Australian team doctor Trefor James but the results were inconclusive.

The selectors are to discuss Lehmann's position with the possibility he could undergo further examination in the next week.

It is understood the selectors may decide Lehmann would be better off resting the injury and rejoining the Australian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy from 12-29 September.

Harvey is a possible replacement
In that case a replacement, possibly Ian Harvey or Andrew Symonds - in the Australia A squad for a tour to South Africa - could come in.

Lehmann was recalled to the Australian side last February after a 10-month break.

Since then he has scored 262 in six matches for Ricky Ponting's side.

The team are scheduled to depart for Nairobi on 26 August for what should have been a home series for Pakistan.

The tournament was moved because of safety fears, and hosts Kenya make up the trio after new Zealand pulled out.
