Pakistan head for Kenya
Geoff Allott takes a wicket in the ICC Knockout semi-final
New Zealand beat Pakistan in Kenya two years ago
Pakistan's triangular one-day series against Australia and New Zealand now looks set to take place in Kenya.

The Australian and New Zealand boards have agreed in principle to play in Nairobi, and provisional dates of 25 August to 7 September have been set.

"We have also spoken to Kenyan Cricket Association officials and they appear enthusiastic about hosting the one-day series," said Pakistan Cricket Board director Brigadier Munawwar Rana.

"Basically the series would be treated as our home series. But we will have to bear all essential expenses for hosting the series."

Kenya has staged one-day international cricket for the past six years, including the 2000 ICC Knockout tournament, which was won by New Zealand.

The switch is, however, bad news for the PCB, who have suffered losses estimated at $20m following the cancellation of a number of tours because of security fears.

The International Cricket Council has, however, refused a request for compensation from the PCB.

New Zealand cut short a visit to Pakistan in May after a bomb went off close to the team hotel, killing 14 people.

"It is obvious that our profits or revenues would definitely be reduced by having to play a home series at a neutral venue," Rana added.

Negotiations are ongoing between Pakistan and Australia over the Test series which is due to take place in October.

A neutral venue again appears the most likely option, with Bangladesh one option available to the PCB.
