Kallis, who has accepted an invitation to play for Wales against England in June, spent a successful season with the Welsh county in 1999. The whole experience left an indelible mark on the 26-year-old and he is keen re-live those good times in Cardiff. "I'll definitely go back," Kallis told BBC Sport Online. "It's at the top of my priority list to play a second season.
"I still follow Glamorgan's results closely and I hold the club close to my heart because I really enjoyed my time there. "Hopefully I can find a gap in the international fixtures to join them after next year's World Cup." Kallis was a surprise inclusion on the 17-man Wales squad announced on Wednesday to play England for the first ever international between the two sides. "There's no doubt that the Welsh will be pretty keen to beat the English - as we always are with South Africa," Kallis added. "Hopefully we can do that and get some good celebrations in afterwards." As expected, Glamorgan provide most of the players in the 17-man squad, but Tony Cottey of Sussex and Somerset's Steffan Jones have also been included. But they will only play if their respective counties are not playing on the day of the match. Steve James will skipper the side with Glamorgan coach John Derrick, Adrian Shaw and Steve Watkin forming the coaching team.
The match is being staged as part of England's preparations for the NatWest Series with India and Sri Lanka from 27 June to 13 July. "We've never had the opportunity of playing against England before and to be able to do so under the banner of Wales is fantastic," said James, the Glamorgan opener and captain. "We're looking for as much support as we can from the public and I'm sure there will be a terrific atmosphere. "It should be a tremendous occasion." England coach Duncan Fletcher, who left Glamorgan two seasons ago, said the match would be perfect preparations for the NatWest series. "In previous years, we have gone into the competition without any warm-up matches," he said. "When we were approached with the idea of playing against Wales it was something we were keen to do. "I know a lot of players involved and I'm confident it will be a very keenly contested game."
