Two injured Isle of Man gymnasts will return home from the Commonwealth Games in Delhi within the next week.

Joe Smith and Olivia Curran were both injured in India during preparations for the competition.

Curran, 19, who withdrew from competition after tearing a knee ligament, will leave on Tuesday.

Smith, 22, will leave India at the weekend after tearing an Achilles tendon during a routine training session in Delhi.

Both athletes are said to be devastated at having to miss the games.

A spokesman from Team Isle of Man said: "Their early departure from Delhi is on medical advice and they need to start treatment at Noble's for their respective injuries".
