Munroe lost on points to Nishioka

Rendall Munroe says he will be a much better boxer for the experience of fighting for a world title last year.

The Leicester boxer, 30, lost his WBC super-bantamweight bout to Japanese champion Toshiaki Nishioka in October.

"It was a big learning curve," he told BBC Radio Leicester: "The best man won on the night. I made a mistake and at that level you pay for your mistakes.

"Some fights can make a fighter and some can break a fighter but that has made me the next big star in boxing."
