Blackwell could become the youngest holder of an English title |
Professional boxing will return to Bath for the first time in over 20 years when Nick Blackwell fights Matt Hainy for the English middleweight title. The 19-year-old from Trowbridge will take on Hainy over 10 rounds at the University of Bath on 20 November. Blackwell has just seven professional fights under his belt and would become the youngest holder of an English title should he win the vacant title. Hainy, a former kick boxer, is the current Midlands Area champion. Also on the card are Bristol boxer Danny Butler and Melksham's Liam Richards. Almost 12 months ago 22-year-old Butler stepped in at late notice to challenge Darren Barker for his British and Commonwealth middleweight belts and was beaten in seven rounds.
