Gavin has a perfect record since turning professional

Birmingham boxer Frankie Gavin says he is working harder than ever on sharpening his technique and increasing his power ahead of his next fight.

The 23-year-old will box for the fourth time as a professional in Liverpool on 30 October.

"I've been doing a lot of footwork and head movement in training and the power's coming," Gavin told BBC WM.

"I'm learning new combinations and how to relax and pick the right punches. I'm getting stronger with every fight."

Gavin was impressive in his last bout in July when he knocked out Graham Fearn inside three rounds in Manchester and Britain's first-ever amateur world champion is itching to get back in the ring.

"I've had a good break but it's been hard this week (in training) and it's going to get harder every week before the fight.

"I've been doing a 40-minute run every night and soon it'll be an hour.

"I've been doing loads of padwork, learning combinations and executing them in the fight.

"I'm working on relaxing, picking my shots and using my movement to make them miss before making them pay with something big," Gavin said.
