Paul McCloskey collected the British light welterweight title in December

Paul McCloskey's European title fight with Frenchman Souleymane M'baye scheduled for Friday in Paris is off.

British champion McCloskey sustained a hand injury in his win over Dean Harrison in March and he exacerbated the ailment in training last week.

The Dungiven man's handlers are hopeful that the bout will be re-arranged for another date.

McCloskey and former world champion M'baye were set to fight for the vacant European belt.
