Rob Norton beat David Dolan by a unanimous points decision to retain the British cruiserweight title and gain the vacant Commonwealth crown. In a fight of five knockdowns, 37-year-old Norton bossed the latter rounds against 29-year-old Dolan. Norton, who was put on the canvas twice, won the British title with a win over Micky Steeds last October. The Stourbridge boxer seemed surprised to get the decision, shrugging his shoulders before celebrating. But his win at the Aston Villa Events Centre improves his record to 31 wins from 36 outings while Dolan's slips to 11 wins and two defeats from 13 fights.
