Dodson has a record of 24 wins with 12 knockouts, four defeats and a draw
Speke super-middleweight Tony Dodson will challenge Ireland's Brian Magee for the British title at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on 28 March.
Dodson, 28, himself a former British champion, has told BBC Radio Merseyside he is relishing his opportunity to try to reclaim the Lonsdale Belt.
He said: "This is the biggest fight of my life, forget Carl Froch.
"Magee has been around the block, he's been a world champion and I see him as a more dangerous fighter than Froch."
Adam Booth is going to train me for this fight simply because it's like a Sunday League team getting the opportunity to go and train with Liverpool Football Club

Dodson's last challenge for the British title ended in a third-round knockout defeat at the hands of Froch in Nottingham in November 2006.
Since then the 'Garston Warrior' has signed a promotional contract with his long-time friend David Haye.
For his fight against Magee, Dodson will train with Haye and Haye's trainer Adam Booth at their base in Cyprus.
"Adam Booth is going to train me for this fight simply because it's like a Sunday League team getting the opportunity to go and train with Liverpool Football Club.
"Adam and David are the best of the best, they've been there and done it," added Dodson.
Haye's proposed fight with WBC heavyweight world champion Vitali Klitschko fell through recently and, according to Dodson, the Londoner has now switched his attentions to Klitschko's younger brother Wladimir.
"He's fighting Wladimir Klitschko in his next fight - it's a done deal. I'm not too sure whether it's actually been signed but I spoke to David two days ago and he was like 'look it is on that is who I'm fighting next'," said Dodson.
