Paul Appleby's defence against Martin Lindsay has been called off. |
Northern Ireland boxer Martin Lindsay has had to pull out of his British featherweight title fight with champion Paul Appleby after suffering an injury. Lindsay, now based in Canada, had been scheduled to face Appleby in Belfast's Ulster Hall on 7 March. The pair had been originally scheduled to meet in a final eliminator for the title earlier last year. But Lindsay withdrew and the Scot went on to fight compatriot John Simpson, whom he beat on points in June. Appleby, 21, defended his belt for the first time against Esham Pickering in Glasgow in November 2008.
