Mikkel Kessler won back his WBA super-middleweight title in June |
Denmark's Mikkel Kessler retained his WBA super-middleweight title with a third-round knockout of Germany's Danilo Haeussler. Kessler, 29, was dominant throughout and caused swelling to Haeussler's left eye in the second round. And the Dane finished his opponent off in the third with a neat left hook. Kessler lost his WBA and WBC titles against Joe Calzaghe last November, but won back the vacant WBA belt against Dimitri Sartison in June.
He improved his record to 41-1, with 31 knockouts. Haeussler fell to 29-4 with one draw.
