Paul McCloskey is hoping to get a big title fight

Dungiven's Paul McCloskey was pushed all the way in securing a 97-93 points win over Nigel Wright in their light welterweight bout in Limerick.

The 28-year-old southpaw dominated the first three rounds on Saturday night but his Hartlepool opponent battled back to make it a close contest.

The undefeated McCloskey wants a shot at a British or European title.

"It was very tough and I'm just delighted to win - I now need to step up to bigger things," he said.

McCloskey's 18th win maintains his 100% career record as a professional.
