Brian Magee moved a step closer to a British super-middleweight title shot by beating Sheffield man Simeon Cover in four rounds on Friday night.

Belfast man Magee dominated throughout and after putting Cover on the canvas early in round four, a second knockout hastened the end of the Wigan bout.

The Belfast boxer is now back boxing at super-middleweight.

He was held to a controversial draw in a British light-heavyweight title bout in Dublin last year by Tony Oakey.

Magee is a former IBO super-middleweight champion.
