 Paddy Barnes will be in Olympic Games action for Ireland |
Beijing-bound Paddy Barnes was beaten in the light flyweight final at the European Union Championships in Poland on Saturday. The Belfast fighter lost out 25-11 to Hungary's Pal Bedak in Catniewo after receiving a bye into the final. Barnes will be joined at the Olympics by Irish teammates John Joe Nevin and David Oliver Joyce, who both won gold. Bantamweight Nevin beat Poland's Mazik Mateusz 10-6 while Joyce's Croatian opponent retired in round three.
