Leicester fighter Rendall Munroe is supremely confident of defending his European super-bantamweight title in Nottingham next month.

Munroe, who won the belt against Kiko Martinez last month, now takes on Frenchman Salem Bouaita on 2 May.

The 27-year-old Leicester binman claims: "He isn't much of a puncher, he's just a very smart boxer.

"But I can show that I'm a man of many talents and that I can change my style," he told BBC Radio Leicester.

Munroe, who remains proud of his day-to-day working life on the bins in Leicester, insists that his success has not gone to his head.

"I'm a humble type of person," he said. "I keep myself to myself, and don't go around thinking I'm anything special.

"A lot of people say the binman is a down and out person's job, but I think more people are realising now that any job that you do can be just as respectable as the top job.

"A lot more people are telling me how I did an excellent job."

The southpaw, who has won 14 and lost just one of his 15 professional fights, will take on Bouaita at Nottingham's Harvey Hadden Leisure Centre, less than two months after winning the belt at the same venue.

And you can hear the fight live on BBC Radio Leicester, 104.9FM.
