Lockett is the number one contender for the WBO title |
Middleweight Gary Lockett hammered Finnish journeyman Kai Kauramaki in two rounds in Edinburgh on Saturday. The Welshman dropped Kauramaki three times in the second before the referee stepped in to stop the fight.
Lockett, 31, is the WBO's number one contender, but the scheduled eight-rounder with Kauramaki, 40, was only his second fight of the year.
"I'm hoping I'll get my shot sometime in 2008. I've got world-class power and I will fight anyone," said Lockett.

WBU middleweight title-holder Lockett, who is trained by Enzo Calzaghe, has a career record of 30 wins and one defeat, with 21 knockouts to his name.
Kauramaki, known as "Ironman", has won 13 and lost 14 in a nine-year professional career.
The bout was on the undercard of Alex Arthur's WBO super-featherweight defence against Mancunian Steve Foster.
