Nasir's hopes end at first stage
Mo Nasir
Mo Nasir lost his first round bout against Harry Tanamor
Welsh hopes at the World Amateur Boxing Championships in Chicago are over after Mo Nasir became the fourth and final man to exit the tournament.

Light flyweight Nasir had been expected to progress far in the tournament but was outclassed by his opponent Harry Tanamor of the Philippines.

The 21-year-old Commonwealth Games bronze medallist lost 24-5 on points.

Earlier in the week, Tobias Webb, Andrew Selby and Chris Jenkins all had their hopes dashed at the first hurdle.

Middleweight Webb and flyweight Selby, both 18, were stopped in the third round after their opponents opened up a 20-point lead, which automatically brings an end to any contest.

Bantamweight Jenkins was well beaten 32-14 by Sri Lanka's Wanniarachchi Manju.
