Williams now has 37 wins from 43 fights |
Danny Williams may quit boxing despite regaining the British heavyweight title from Scott Gammer in Neath on Friday. Williams stopped his Welsh opponent in the ninth round to win back the crown he first claimed eight years ago.
Williams, 33, said: "In a few days I'll make up my mind. If I decide that there is nothing left, I will pack it in.
"I've always wanted to become world champion and if I haven't got what it takes, I might as well forget it. With my heart, I could get seriously hurt."

Williams weighed in at 16st 4lb on Thursday, although he claimed after the fight that he thought he was nearer 19st, saying, "I'm going to have to throw my scales away".
It was the lightest he had been since his pro debut in 1995 and more than four stones fewer than he was for his loss to Matt Skelton last summer.
The sudden weight loss suggested a new hunger and a new chapter in Williams' rollercoaster career.

But he may well have come to the conclusion that his battles with Mike Tyson and Vitali Klitschko, among others, have finally caught up with him.
While Williams enjoyed periods of success behind a snapping left jab, the Welshman was always in contention before a clubbing right hand effectively ended things in the ninth.
And had the Welshman boasted a bigger punch, he may well have been able to make up Williams' mind for him.
"My jab was all right but I wasn't consistent enough and that is the difference between domestic and world-class," added Williams.

"The likes of Larry Holmes were consistent, whereas with me you got something good then you got something lackadaisical, and if I can't find a way to stop that then I am off.
"It would be a good way to finish, a two-time British champion, a world title challenger who beat Mike Tyson.
"And I have always said that whatever happens, even if I have to fight Bob The Builder, I am never going to retire on a loss."
