Harrison is Scotland's most successful fighter |
Scott Harrison will defend his WBO featherweight title in an all-British fight against Nicky Cook in December - more than a year after his last fight. The 29-year-old Scot will face the former European champion at London's Excel Centre on 9 December.
Harrison has had a series of well-publicised problems since defeating Nedal Hussein in November.
He has been treated for depression and alcohol problems and charged with six criminal offences, including assaults.
Harrison, who is currently training in Spain, dismissed concerns that his year-long break from the ring would affect his performance.
"I've been training for three or four months now - I never took any time off," said Harrison.
"I've never been lying idle for a year, I've always been training and sparring - I feel bang on.
"I feel as though I've come back stronger for it, in fact this will be the best shape I've been in.
"I'm well rested. It's all positive from my side and I'm looking forward to the fight."
The winner of the contest will meet Juan Manuel Marquez, who withdrew from a planned meeting with Harrison earlier this month.
The Harrison/Cook bout will top a card which will also see Matt Skelton defend his Commonwealth heavyweight title, while Amir Khan will fight an eight-round lightweight contest.
