World champion boxer Scott Harrison has been charged with six offences, including three assaults and one fraud. The charges followed his detention by police over "a number of incidents" which took place in South Lanarkshire in July.
The 29-year-old featherweight was handcuffed in Glasgow on Wednesday and led away for questioning.
At the time, Strathclyde Police said he had not been arrested but was being questioned over the alleged incidents.
Officers were able to hold him for six hours.
A force spokesman said later: "A 29-year-old man has been charged with three counts of assault, two breaches of the peace and one fraud relating to incidents that took place in Rutherglen and East Kilbride in July."
A date has not yet been set for his court appearance.
Harrison, of Cambuslang, Lanarkshire, has been ordered by the boxing authorities to defend his WBO title against Mexican interim champion Juan Manuel Marquez by November.
