Gammer is the first Welshman to hold the belt since 1984 |
Scott Gammer says he is proud to join the elite band of seven Welshmen to be crowned British heavyweight champion. "History means a lot, there are some great names of former champions and it's fantastic to be up with them," unbeaten Gammer, 29, told BBC Sport.
"It's always been one of the best titles to hold, that hasn't changed."
The Pembroke Dock man's ninth-round stoppage of Mark Krence in Carmarthen made him the first Welshman to hold the title since David Pearce in 1984.

Jack Petersen, Tommy Farr, Johnny Williams, Joe Erskine and Neville Meade are the other names on the list.
"The home support helped me a lot, I couldn't have asked for more from a sell-out crowd," said Gammer.
"I don't know what's next for me. Audley Harrison has been mentioned, but he's just one of many names and nothing has been signed."
Gammer now has 16 wins (9 KOs) and one draw to his name since turning professional in 2002.
