Woods will be looking to get his revenge against Johnson |
Sheffield's Clinton Woods will defend his IBF light heavyweight title against Jamaica's Glen Johnson in August or September, says Johnson's promoter. Johnson, who has drawn with and beaten Woods before, was expected to fight super middleweight king Joe Calzaghe before the Welshman injured his hand.
Leon Margules, head of Warrior's Promotions, told BBC Sport the fight will take place in August or September.
Margules added: "And if I win the purse bid, we'll do it in Florida."
Margules claimed the IBF had ordered the fight to take place within 90 days of 15 June.
A spokesman for Woods said his camp were unaware of any such directive, but that Woods was keen for the fight to take place in the America.

It was thought that Johnson, 37, might be dropped as the IBF's mandatory challenger after apparently choosing to fight Calzaghe over Woods. But Margules said no agreement had ever been made with Calzaghe, despite comments attributed to Johnson in the British media.
"Calzaghe didn't pull out of anything because we didn't have a deal," said Margules, boss of Warrior's Promotions.
"We never stopped negotiating with both parties and our position was we would make a deal with either guy, depending on what was the better opportunity for Glen.
"Glen's not bothered who he fights - he just wants to get in the ring and make money."
Woods, 34, claimed a controversial draw against Johnson in November 2003 before being outpointed in February 2004.
Johnson's win over Woods saw him claim the vacant IBF title, which he defended against Roy Jones Jr in September 2004 before relinquishing it to fight the division's other main protagonist, America's Antonio Tarver.
Johnson beat Tarver on a split decision in December 2004 but Tarver gained revenge with a split decision of his own last June.
Woods claimed the vacant IBF crown against Rico Hoye last March and has made two defences, including a sixth-round stoppage of Australia's Jason DeLisle last month.
