Middleweight king Bernard Hopkins hopes to retire from boxing in January after avenging his defeat to Roy Jones Jr. The 40-year-old legend defends his belts against undefeated Jermain Taylor on 16 July - a fight he says will be his last as a middleweight win or lose.
And he then plans to step up to light heavyweight to fight the winner of the Antonio Tarver v Glen Johnson bout before signing off against Jones.
"It's the only fight out there that makes sense," said Hopkins.
The American, who has 46 career wins from 49 contests, lost a decision to Jones in May, 1993.
"Roy Jones v Bernard Hopkins for the grand - it's the 12-year anniversary since we've been in the ring together.
"Let Roy rest up - we'll do it at 175lb so he doesn't have to kill himself to come down in weight."
Hopkins, a long-time champion at middleweight, said he wanted to challenge himself by moving up a couple of divisions for his last two bouts.
"I'm venturing back into dangerous waters where I'm not really comfortable," he said.
