Arthur is the European champion |
Alex Arthur will defend his British, Commonwealth and European super featherweight titles against Ricky Burns at Meadowbank on 18 February. Burns is unbeaten in 13 fights and the 22-year-old Glaswegian is convinced he will beat the champion from Edinburgh.
"I have been underestimated in this business and people have ignored me," said Burns.
"Alex Arthur is talking about future titles but I'm going to remove these belts from him."
Former WBU super featherweight champion Michael Gomez faces Willie Limond on the undercard for the vacant WBU lightweight title but his attention is firmly set on a re-match with Arthur.
Gomez, who knocked Arthur out in Edinburgh in October 2003, said: "I am going to smash Willie Limond so badly like I did to other Scots Craig Docherty, Gary Thornhill and Alex Arthur.
"I will put him to sleep. They should be worrying about me. I would fight the pair of them on the same night."
Arthur, 27, refused to rule out a rematch in the future.
"I was looking to fight him again sooner rather than later but we know Michael is having problems with the weight.
"I have to do the best for my career whether or not I will be able to compete at super-featherweight or lightweight.
"My main ambition is to win this one and win a world title at this weight before looking to move up divisions."
