Arthur is the European champion |
European superfeatherweight champion Alex Arthur is entertaining thoughts of an all-Scottish world title showdown with Scott Harrison. WBO featherweight belt holder Harrison has been urged to move up in weight by his management.
And Arthur told The Herald: "I have gone from British, to European and now I am ready for the world.
"Ideally I would win a world title and then, if Scott moved up, give him a shot at it."
However, Harrison has made it clear he will not be bullied into a weight change after the eighth defence of his title at the weekend.
And Edinburgh fighter Arthur will not be going out of his way to accomodate his Glasgow rival.
"Fighting Scott could happen definitely but I have gone on my own path and if it happened it would have to be on my terms," added Arthur.
"I have worked hard to get where I am and I am not going to move aside for anyone.
"Wouldn't it be great, though, the two of us fighting at Edinburgh Castle?"
