Magee ready for miracle comeback
WBU welterweight champion Eamonn Magee
Eamonn Magee will fight at the King's Hall on 18 March
Eamonn Magee is dedicating his return to the ring on 18 March in Belfast to the medics who brought about his recovery from a vicious street assault.

WBU welterweight champion Magee will make his comeback at the King's Hall against an as-yet unnamed opponent.

`Terminator' Magee feared his career was over when an attack left him with serious multiple injuries.

"The doctors and nurses did an amazing job. If it was not for them I would not be back in the ring," said Magee.

"I am dedicating this fight to those who helped me to recover.

"I am so thankful to them and now I am back I want to show that I still have a lot to offer and I can be a force at the very top again.

Magee defiantly believes he can go on to have a re-match with WBU light-welterweight champion Ricky Hatton, who he floored before losing on points.

"I let Hatton off the hook the last time," said 33-year-old magee.

"First I want to make a couple of defences of my WBU welterweight title.

"I was offered a 10-rounder for the same money on this show but I said no, I want a title defence. If I can do 10 rounds then I can do 12, simple as that."
