There is no love lost between Tarver (left) and Johnson |
Antonio Tarver says he is better prepared for Glen Johnson than when he lost to him last December. Tarver faces Johnson again in a non-title light heavyweight fight in Memphis on Saturday.
"I had short notice for that fight (in December) and didn't have time to fully train," said former WBC and WBA champion Tarver.
"This time I've had a chance to train. I'm in great shape. He's the journeyman and his journey is over."
Former IBF champion Johnson and Tarver are the only two fighters to knock out former champion Roy Jones.
America's Tarver floored him last May in Las Vegas and Jamaican Johnson scored his knockout last September in Memphis.
Both Johnson and Tarver relinquished their belts last November in order to fight one another.
Johnson scored a unanimous victory over Tarver in their first fight and the winner of Saturday's rematch could face Jones once again.
