 | Joe's really struggling to work off those last three pounds to make super middleweight |
Welsh boxing legend Colin Jones says WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe should consider retirement. "I think Joe is feeling cornered and wondering where he goes from here," said Jones, after Calzaghe laboured to a points win over Kabary Salem.
"Another performance like the last one and we could see a fighter like Salem taking the title off Joe."
Jones says Calzaghe has major problems making the weight division and that personal problems are affecting him.
"After speaking to [Joe's trainer and father] Enzo Calzaghe and Joe, he's really struggling to work off those last three pounds to make super middleweight," Jones told BBC Sport Wales.

"That's giving him problems with fluids leading to dehydration in the later rounds." Jones was concerned that even if Calzaghe moves up to light heavyweight as he plans, he will not carry enough power in the heavier division.
"Joe has done everything asked of him and defeated everybody who has been put in front of him," said Jones.
"How many champions retire undefeated? If Joe considers that, I certainly wouldn't oppose him getting out at the top."
