Cook has had a frustrating wait |
Nicky Cook's European featherweight title defence against Johnny Begue has been put back to September. The bout, which was to feature Esham Pickering on the undercard, had already been delayed from 10 July for two weeks when Cook got an infection.
Cook is not now expected to fully recover until August so the fights will be staged in the autumn instead.
Pickering is still likely to defend his European belt against Russian Alexander Fedorov when a new date is fixed.
Promoter Barry Hearn said, "This is unfortunate but Cook's fitness is the most paramount thing here.
"We tried to keep the show together but decided to postpone the whole show for a further six weeks."
