Carl 'the Cobra' Froch says he will be the man to dethrone WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe. The 27-year-old Nottingham fighter, unbeaten in 13 fights, believes he has the style to defeat Calzaghe, regarded as the world's best super middleweight.
"I'd like to fight Calzaghe, probably next year after a couple of fights for the British title," said Froch.
"I know exactly what to do against his style, I'm really confident going in there that I'd look brilliant."
Froch added: "That would be an outrageous win because Calzaghe's a good fighter, a very strong fighter, he's been around a few years, and I just feel I've got exactly what you need to beat him."
Froch fights Derby's Damon Hague for the vacant British super middleweight crown on Friday while Calzaghe next faces Kabary Salem on 22 October.
Should Calzaghe win, the Welshman still hopes to land a dream fight at light heavyweight against Antonio Tarver.
Failing that, though, a rematch with Charles Brewer could be on the cards.
The WBO are looking to arrange a final eliminator for Calzaghe's super middleweight title between Brewer and Mario Veit.
