Carl Froch sealed the first belt of his career with a dominant win over Alan Page for the English super-middleweight title on Friday. Both men went into the contest with undefeated records, but Froch controlled proceedings from the outset before the referee stepped in to stop the bout in the seventh round.
Froch, who has now fought 10 times since turning professional in 2002, started off slowly as he gradually picked his punches with increasing accuracy.
Page looked steadily more battered every round in front of a volatile crowd.
And his downfall was eventually sealed with a right uppercut midway through the seventh round.
Page then turned his back and the referee brought the fight to a premature end.
