Mosley seeks new trainer

Former light middleweight champion Shane Mosley is looking for a trainer after splitting with his father Jack.

"Sugar" Shane, who was outboxed in Las Vegas by "Winky" Wright, confirmed that the separation was an amicable one.

"Together we scaled many mountains, and I would never have had success if he had not been there to guide and teach me every step of the way," Mosley said.

"However, the time has come for us to sever our professional relationship so that I can try some new avenues."

Jack Mosley spoke equally well of his son, who has a career record of 39 wins and three defeats.

"I love my son with all of my heart and only want the best for him," he said.

"Part of being a good parent is knowing when to let your children go. I understand and accept his decision that the time has come for him to be out there on his own.

"I will still be there for him, as I always have, as his father. He will always be able to call on me for advice and support."
