Shock loss for Takaloo
Takaloo
Takaloo keeps his WBU belt despite the surprise loss
WBU light middleweight champion Takaloo lost a non-title bout against Portuguese journeyman Eugenio Montero at Wembley on Saturday.

The Iranian-born fighter, who now has a British passport after a long battle with the authorities, lost the eight-rounder 77-75 on points.

The surprise defeat dents Takaloo's stated ambition to take on American former world champion Oscar de la Hoya.

De la Hoya is also being linked with a rematch against Felix Trinidad.

Puerto Rican Trinidad beat De la Hoya in 1999 before hanging up his boxing gloves.

But the 31-year-old has now made known his desire to return to the ring.
