Karmazin was in total control |
Britain's Dave Walker saw his hopes of European glory dashed by light-middleweight champion Roman Karmazin. Walker was outclassed from the opening bell and lasted less than three rounds before his corner threw in the towel to spare him further punishment.
"I've been fighting for 15 years and I've never been hurt to the body like that," said Walker, whose challenge at the Alexandra Palace in London ended two minutes and seven seconds into round three.
"I've got no excuses. He was the better man and I just couldn't get going in there.
"I caught him with a couple of shots but he was just too good."
Walker's trainer Robert McCracken added: "David was hurt a couple of times in there and he's got a life to live outside boxing so it was correct to stop it.
"There was no point in him being carried out on a stretcher.
"I think the occasion might have just got to David, but he can come back and go for a domestic title."
