FUTURE STARS David Haye
I am very confident that he will go on to big things - he's the best talent I have ever sparred with and he should be dominating the British, European and Commonwealth scene very soon. Roman Greenberg Roman Greenberg is a 20-year-old Russian-born heavyweight who lives in Israel but will be based in this country next year and he is very skilled. He is like a heavyweight Roy Jones Jnr - he's only 20, he's got eight years or so to get his boxing maturity - if he keeps his head on his shoulders, there is no limit to what he can achieve.
PREDICTIONS
When he gets the chance to fight for the European title, Danny Williams should win. In America, WBC welterweight champion Vernon Forrest, the man who upset Shane Mosley, should beat fellow champion Ricardo Mayorga with some ease. Speaking of Mosley, I think he will struggle against Oscar de la Hoya in their planned rematch, despite having got the better of him in 2000. For Lennox Lewis, there are three planned fights, against the Klitschko brothers, Wladimir and Vitali, and a rematch with Mike Tyson. I think the easiest fight there for Lewis is the Tyson fight.
But if he is focused on the job in hand, those fights should not be a problem I also think Roy Jones Jr will be too quick for John Ruiz in their planned WBA heavyweight title fight. Carl Froch is my one to watch. He has been featured a lot on the BBC and he is a very talented super middleweight. He's only had four or five fights but I'd expect him to have maybe 10-12 bouts this year. I'd think that in a year or so, he will be ready for a domestic title fight but I would not rush him. |
