The 31-year-old British and Commonwealth middleweight champion took his record to 34 wins and just one defeat. It was his 30th victory inside the distance, as Osman retired at the end of the fourth round. Eastman's only loss came when challenging for the vacant WBA middleweight title in November last year.
The Londoner went down to a narrow points defeat against American William Joppy in Las Vegas. Eastman controlled proceedings from the outset, against Osman, backing his opponent on to the ropes with a series of left uppercuts and right hooks. By the end of the second round the Camden-based fighter was looking a beaten man, bleeding from his nose and a cut over the left eye. Eastman's dominance continued and an overhand right midway through the fourth had Hussain in trouble again, his corner retiring their man at the end of the round. Eastman will now look to regain the European crown he vacated when going for world title glory by taking on Frenchman Erland Betare in the New Year. | See also: 25 Oct 02 | Boxing 23 Oct 02 | Boxing 18 Nov 01 | Boxing Top Boxing stories now: Links to more Boxing stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
